The B.Voc (Bachelor of Vocation) is a full undergraduate degree that prioritises applied, vocational learning over pure academic study. A B.Sc is more theory and research oriented; the B.Voc is designed to produce professionals who are job-ready at graduation. Both are university-recognised degrees of equal standing. The B.Voc simply takes a different route to get you there.
Yes. The B.Voc in Data Science is open to students from all Class 12 streams — Science, Commerce, and Arts. Year 1 is specifically structured to build mathematical and programming foundations from scratch. Many successful data professionals came from non-STEM backgrounds; what matters is the commitment to learn the fundamentals properly, which this programme supports.
The syllabus moves from mathematics and statistics for data science in Year 1, through machine learning and AI applications in Year 2, to specialisation, deployment, and a capstone project in Year 3. This includes Python, SQL, data visualisation, supervised and unsupervised ML, deep learning, NLP, computer vision, cloud tools, and MLOps. A full semester-wise document is available from our admissions office.
AI and ML are not a single module in Year 3 — they are threaded throughout the programme. Year 2 dedicates full modules to machine learning algorithms and the artificial intelligence course framework. Year 3 advances these into deep learning architectures, NLP systems, and deployment workflows. By the time you graduate, you have worked with these technologies across multiple projects, not just studied them in theory.
The multi-exit structure is designed specifically for this situation. If you complete Year 1 and need to stop, you receive the Diploma in Data Science — a recognised credential. If you complete Year 2, you receive the Advanced Diploma in Data Science. Both carry value in the job market and can be used to re-enter the programme later if you choose to continue.
